Licence, registration and insurance requirements
ICBC's driving guide: Your licence
Keeping your licence up to date is your responsibility, and so is knowing what you must carry and produce.
Insuring your vehicle is a legal requirement, not a choice. Driving without valid insurance exposes you to the full cost of any crash you are involved in — which is the same risk the manual raises about impaired driving, where your insurance may not pay for injuries or damage you cause.
